Excuse me sir, do you have a moment...
A downloadable game
Frankly, I do not!
It is December 31, 1999, and Bobb Le Bowski has decided to shut himself off from the outside world. He has taken the day off, which he wants to spend at home in his bathrobe, drinking his favorite juice from a carton and listening to the opera.
But one single “Ding dong!” is ready to ruin Bobb’s day!
His house, or rather his safety bubble, is under siege! Contemporary fragments of irrationality embodied in various groups of people are ready to threaten Bobb’s idyllic day and his common sense! The Doomsday movement, flat-earthers, reptilians, schemers, life coaches, you name it, are breaking into Bobb’s house with their sleeves rolled up and he has to defend himself! “Birds aren’t real!”, “Doomsday is coming!”, “Join our pyramid scheme!” are just some of aggressors’ shrieks whose irrational bubbles Bobb needs to burst in order to protect his own beliefs!
“Excuse me sir, do you have a moment…” is a game that partly parodies, but mostly criticizes today’s misinformed world and the charlatans who make money off of it, terrorizing the ordinary population. The game is designed as a loop from which you can’t escape, your day is constantly repeated, and irrationality and subliminal messages eventually catch up with you. The only thing you can do is to endure as many days of clear thinking as possible, before you end up paranoid, brainwashed, or scammed!
“Excuse me sir, do you have a moment…” is a tower defense top down 2.5D game that can be played with a gamepad or keyboard+mouse. The game features three enemy types, and depending on their belief bubble, they can make you paranoid, brainwash you, or scam you if they overlap with your own bubble. The three meters on the screen show how much each enemy group has influenced you. When you fail to adequately defend yourself and any meter reaches 100%, the game is over. The goal is to survive as long as possible without being influenced by crazy conspiracy theories.
Enjoy and stay skeptical! ;)
